Join us for an exhibition tour followed by river Lea boat tour (Limited 10 spaces available)
Join us for a tour of the Raw Materials exhibition at the Nunnery Gallery exploring the industrial heritage of the river Lea through the material wood with a fascinating collection of objects from furniture and photographs to wood tools used to craft as well as newly commissioned sculptures from artist Silke Dettmers and newly crafted cabinets from the Building Crafts College students.
10am: Meet at the Nunnery Gallery for exhibition tour followed by 20 minute walk to Old Ford lock, Hackney Wick, Fish Island
11am-1pm: Aboard the canal boat for a 2 hour boat trip up the beautiful River Lea to Springfield Park, Clapton.
You will be joined by members of the Raw Materials project steering group who will help you uncover stories of industry along the River Lea as you cruise along,
Drinks and light refreshments will be served on board (please feel free to bring any packed lunch for the journey).
This is a one way journey only. You will need to make your own arrangements for transportation back.
